Excellent Business Plan

Publisher Hoepli, 2021, Italy – 7th Edition

Born in 1999 as IL BUSINESS PLAN, the book has been written during a work experience in the USA, where the academic background of the author merged with the ongoing business requirements of his American start-up. Over 20 years, the book, translated into Spanish and sold in Latin America and Spain in its second edition, has evolved along with the practical cases provided by the planning and development of hundreds of start-ups and companies in multiple industries. In recent times, the author, after careful study of the Lean movement and its comparison with the Traditional planning approach, theorized a third approach able to conjugate the two doctrines, expressed by a new model, the Complete Lean Investment Planning, or CLIP. On the basis of his new theory, he then writes the LEAN BUSINESS PLAN, and after, merges the 6th edition of its Business Plan best-seller into this new book, the advanced version of the LEAN BUSINESS PLAN becoming the PRO edition.

Excellent business plan

This PRO book adds to the LEAN more business insights in terms of management and planning, introducing as well the topic of the Strategic Performance Assessment, three additional chapters, and a second business case to the first one illustrated in the simpler edition.

The PRO edition is not necessarily better than the LEAN one, sharing the same fundamentals and planning theory: the simpler edition is best guide for start-ups and small companies in setting up their growth roadmap. The advanced book is more oriented to a professional audience, and suitable to support the planning needs of more complex organizations: university professors, students, managers of larger organizations.

Lean business plan

Publisher Hoepli, 2020, Italy.

Lean Business Plan is tackling the conflicting opposition between the Traditional approach to business planning with the newest planning doctrine proposed by the Lean movement. The book assesses the pros and cons of both approaches, merging the best benefits coming from the opposite theories. Upon the author's findings, the best is a way to combine an experimenting activity throughout a more extended planning phase, throughout the application of a new approach summarized by the CLIP, the Complete Lean Investment Planning model, comprehensively described in the text.

The corporate strategy map

McGraw-Hill Italia, Milan, June 2008

Corporate strategy is an ongoing matter always under the lights of managers and entrepreneurs, along with researchers willing to contribute with their insights. In the last thirty years, many new theories emerged, creating models able to classify and interpret either the context (industries, markets) or the actors (competitors, clients, suppliers, lenders, etc.), with the common purpose to isolate factors and cause-effects relationships adequate to guarantee the social and economic success of companies. The text originates from the study of different theories on business strategy, an investigation that ends with the construction of the Integrated Strategy Model (Modello del Quadro Strategico Integrato). This model gives an overview on the cause-effects relations among business factors contained in some of the most known corporate strategies, adding original observations and theory insights enabling to reach an organic overview of the matter. The text is addressed to managers and entrepreneurs willing to handle a Model enabling them to shape successfully their corporate strategies in the increasing complexity of all business markets.

El Plan de Negocios

McGraw-Hill Colombia, Santa Fè de Bogotà, May 2000

The author describes his business planning activity during his US entrepreneurial experience, from what he conceived the idea to write a book:" ...after time spent gaining comprehension of the American business culture, elements necessary for proper planning were gathered. After collecting a sufficient amount of data, I began to draw the first economic and financial forecasts. I worked closely with an advisor from the SBA Small Business Development at Austin, where I learned theoretical financial differences in the U.S. approach in comparison with European methods. This period brought me a great opportunity to assimilate the American way of business planning, in some manners so similar and in others so different from the approach learned in my country. I adapted my original plan to integrate what I had learned of the U.S. business environment... at this point, I had the idea to summarize my whole experience in a book.... "
